The Best Healthy Habit You Can Work on Starting Today

Who’s heard of that part of quantum theory that says the mere observation of a particle affects the reality of said particle?

Ok, let’s get the scoop and bear with me here. Basically, a group of physicists has proven that observation has a direct influence on what actually takes place. So, in a nutshell, the observation is behind the wheel of our consciousness car. Observation shapes reality.

Lifestyle choices: mindset matters

“It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see” Henry David Thoreau

Now, armed with this information, take initiative to audit your subconscious mind and begin to take ownership of what is happening under the hood.

Sleep, wholesome food, hydration, and other such lifestyle choices are undoubtedly integral to health and even more so to healing. All too often we neglect mindset, which should actually be at the top of the list of determinants of health.

Acknowledging the importance of mindset and how we can affect it is more important now than ever before. In a world where lots of things are beyond our immediate influence think to stay at home orders- remember that time and time again the one thing you reliably have 100% ownership of and can influence is your mindset.

Every minute of every day your body’s cellular level is being infused with the energy of the tone from your inner narrative. You can be exercising right, eating clean, getting plenty of sleep, yet neglecting the integration of mindset into your health maintenance routine can cause you to plateau.

The tone with which your inner narrative operates and the energy your subconscious mind runs on is part of healing. We are energetic beings who are capable of a tremendous amount of growth and have infinite potential.

All of this seems daunting, but here are a couple of simple tips to start

Ask yourself, is whatever you’re going through at this very moment making you a better person? If not, where can you focus on something more productive? What activities and mindsets are you engaging in that are building you up versus bringing you down? Where can you admire an accomplishment? Where can you feel more grounded in gratitude? Where can you invite in light and make decisions from a place of love?

In this process, practice patience. Just like any change, your progress may be nonlinear. Just like we appreciate brain injuries to heal at a slow pace, so is the process of rewiring negative thought patterns or self-limiting beliefs in order to realize our full potential for health and happiness.

It’s the rinse and repeat of this exercise where you begin to whittle away at the process of rewiring. Practice it consciously over and over again. In time it becomes a part of your cruise control operating procedures.

Let’s get started now! Say it out loud, maybe even in front of a mirror. Repeat after me:

  • I have infinite potential
  • I release all tethers to past trauma
  • I embrace vulnerability

Did saying any of the above out loud makes you uncomfortable or stir up emotion? Congratulations! You now have started your mindset audit and have identified where you can begin to work. Your body has everything it needs to heal when the quality of your mindset is part of the conversation.
